Today I stopped writing for WND.com. I just spent the last two years writing a weekly column there. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do. First off, it usually took me about a half a day to write each column. As a prepper and a homesteader, a half a day is a lot of time to spend in front of a desk when there's chores that need doing. I think this is going to work out a lot better. For one thing, I gone high tech - at least for me - and I'm using Dragon Speak (for those who don't know, that's a voice to text software product).
But while I'll now be writing shorter pieces a lot more often, my intentions remain the same. I'm going to talk about prepping, self-dependence and country living, leavened by my own political persuasions.
Should anyone get around to reading this, I'll be delighted to take your opinions under advisement. But I still intend to preach my prepping with practicality in mind. It's entirely possible that at some point in the future I'll attempt to monetize this blog. But mylar bag manufacturers need not apply.
I have enjoyed your articles on WND and look forward to your continued writing on this blog.
ReplyDeletecheers!
Thanks jr. Sorry for the delay in getting your comment approved. I'm still figuring this thing out.
DeleteI just subscribed to follow your blog. I am not a "prepper" (ponder the sanity of that statement), but I enjoy reading your posts at WND. So now I will follow you here.
ReplyDeleteKarl, I'm glad you're here. Don't worry about being a "prepper". Pretty sure if you read my stuff, you're at least someone who likes being able to take care of yourself and those you care about.
DeleteI've never used mylar bags but am interested. Are they not necessary for food storage? My storage is mostly glass and have many dollars invested in the jars.
ReplyDeleteHi Anon! Thanks for reading. Here's a column I wrote for WND.com which addresses in part my less-that-complimentary feelings about the use of mylar and food preservation.
